How To Use Mako

Mako helps you turn the content you already read into thought leadership. It watches the sites you care about, surfaces new articles and insights, and turns them into LinkedIn posts and blog ideas—written in your voice, for your audience. If you’ve just signed up or are thinking about it, here’s how to get going.

Create Your Account

Sign up at mako-app.com with your name, email, and a password (at least five characters). You’ll get immediate access to a 14-day free trial—no card required. Use that time to add your inputs, set your voice, and generate your first posts.

Add Your Inputs

Inputs are the websites you want Mako to follow—blogs, news sites, industry publications, or competitors. Add them during onboarding or later in your account.

Mako crawls these sites (respecting their structure and crawlability), discovers new and updated pages, and adds them to your feed. You can add up to 10 sites. Choose sources that regularly publish content relevant to what you want to talk about on LinkedIn or on your blog.

Set Your Voice

Your voice is how Mako shapes every post and idea. It has two parts:

  • Persona – who you are professionally and how you like to sound (e.g. “technical but approachable”, “direct and concise”).
  • ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) – who you’re writing for (e.g. “B2B SaaS founders”, “HR leaders in mid-size companies”).

You can update these anytime in your account. The clearer they are, the more on-brand your generated content will be. You can also create multiple voices and pick one when generating a post or post pack.

Use Your Feed and Insights

Once your inputs are set up, Mako starts building your feed: new and updated pages from your sites, with short AI-extracted insights so you can scan quickly. Check the feed regularly to see what’s new and choose what to turn into content.

There’s also an insights view that highlights notable findings from your tracked sites—useful for spotting trends, stats, or angles worth posting about.

Generate Your First Post or Blog Idea

You can create content in several ways:

  • From your feed – Pick an item and generate a single LinkedIn post or a post pack (one post per voice from the same source).
  • From a URL – Paste any article URL and generate a post or a blog title idea.
  • From a PDF – Upload a PDF (e.g. report, whitepaper) and get posts or ideas from it.
  • From your own text – Paste raw text and have Mako turn it into a post.

For blogs, you get title ideas first; then you can structure an idea (e.g. 4–6 paragraph outlines) and develop it. For posts, you get a ready-to-edit LinkedIn post. You can regenerate if you want a different angle, add or change images (upload or AI-generated), and schedule posts for later.

Stay in the Loop

Mako can send you a Monday briefing and notify you when a post pack is ready, so you don’t have to remember to check the app. Keep an eye on your email settings if you want these on.

After Your Trial

When your 14-day trial ends, you can subscribe via the in-app payment flow to keep full access. Your inputs, voices, ideas, and scheduled posts stay intact.

Mako works best when you treat it as a content pipeline: strong inputs, a clear voice, and a habit of checking the feed and turning insights into posts and blog ideas. Start with a few inputs and one well-defined voice, generate a few posts, then add more sites and refine your persona and ICP as you go.

Like what you read?

Mako watches the web so you don’t have to - then helps you turn what’s happening into content in your own voice: informed, authentic, and unmistakably yours.
